I am married to a lovely man, and we have four children, Omar 13, Paulo 11, Macarena 10, Isabella 7. They mean the world to me. I own 2 child daycares, and a pre-k school; therefore I started my Master in Early Childhood Education to learn best practices for young children and their development. In the pre-k school we have a PSJA teacher, therefore there are 3 hours of PSJA curriculum, and 3 hours we teach Direct Instruction (Reading and Math).
Giving a change to a carrier is a challenge, especially for those like myself who are already firmly entrenched in rewarding jobs. As an experienced accountant, my decision to pursue a master has not been a light one, but I have committed to it with firm resolve to accomplish my goals. After many years of assessing business from a macro perspective, I am now motivated to pursue a Master's degree in Childhood Education to make my undertakings more specific, practical, and meaningful.
I was born and raised in Mexico, in a small city, where there is no opportunity for a huge growth; that is where I got my first Bachelor Degree in Business Administration. After graduating from the college having acquired a deep understanding of facts and theories dealing with "big" concepts such as business administration, accounting, financial statements, cash flows I got a job position in Monterrey as a Finance Manager in a company that was present in 36 countries.
The company that I was working with had its principal office in France, that raised my curiosity to learn French as a foreign language, therefore I started my second Bachelor Degree in Foreign Language (English, Italian, French and German). My extensive knowledge and profound insights earned me a transfer to Edinburg TX, as a Finance Executive, meeting with and working alongside leaders from various international organizations and countries.
An opportunity aroused to become part of the administration in a learning center, so little by little I was changing the perspective of life and the way I wanted to reach out to others, especially those who are little and vulnerable to the world, to improve living standards and enhance lives. That is how I started my own learning center. At this time I own and manage 2 learning centers with great expectations. The total capacity is 260 children.
I started focusing on covering important issues relevant to daily lives such as those dealing with the children education. To accomplish this, I strived to expand my learning centers by reforming the training area. I started a new project to retrain all teachers, and the results of that project are just wonderful. To exacerbate these issues, employees lacked motivation, at least partly due to never receiving recognition or commendation because of the station's lack of quality management or evaluation guidelines.
Thanks to those experiences and insights, along with my own motivation, I now wish to study a Master in Childhood Education to enhance my learning centers, both in terms of organization and reaching others.
After searching extensively for a suitable academic program, the MED Early Childhood at The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley has emerged as my top choice. The school offers a curriculum encompassing three core areas and key concepts that match my unique interests and demands. Having attained an understanding of those theories and concepts, I am undoubtedly able to craft a suitable education strategy for growing organizations.
Overall, I am extremely excited for accomplishing the Master's degree in Childhood Education at The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley.
